Uncork’d Entertainment will be releasing their spaghetti Western Once Upon A Time In Deadwood to disc tomorrow, November 19.
You might be thinking they picked the title “Deadwood” as an intentional eye-catcher for fans of the 2000s HBO series, but in actuality, this is intended as a homage to the classic picture Once Upon A Time In The West starring Charles Bronson and Sergio Leone. Many of the locations used for this film are the same as in that one, intentionally.
But Bronson is no longer with us, so Robert Bronzi plays a gunslinger who’s been coerced into a rescue mission. An heiress was willing to pay him big bucks to rescue her kidnapped sister….but he wasn’t interested, so she poisoned his food and told him he had three days to live unless he could track down the kidnapped woman, who holds the antidote. Well, then!
“You’ll love Bronzi delivering his brand of justice,” says producer Jeff Miller. “We filmed at recognizable locations where Bronson stood 50 years ago on the classic ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST, and I can’t wait for fans to check out this latest chapter in our series of films with Bronzi.” Previously, the same team cast Bronzi in the starring role of their movie Death Kiss.
Once Upon A Time In Deadwood also stars Michael Pare as the kidnapper, Karin Brauns (PLAYING WITH DOLLS series), Lauren Compton (CLOWNTOWN), actor-model Chris Matteis, J.D. Angstadt, Jose Varela Garcia, Justin Hawkins, Tony Jackson, and Sierra Sherbundy. Miller produces alongside Ronnie D. Lee, and the film was directed by Rene Perez. Look for it on DVD November 19.
