For those who are fans of the Oddworld series, Steam has plenty to offer at the moment. Anyone with an account can head onto the Steam Store and add the original game that began the franchise to their library at no cost. You’ll have to hurry though as Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee is only free for a limited time and will not be available after 10am PT.
The game was originally released on the PlayStation and PC and sees players take on the role of Abe in a platform adventure. The overall aim is to rise up against Molluck the Glukkon, an evil character that plans to turn you and your species into food. Oddworld is an old classic of the 1990s, and it’s great to see the franchise enjoying a sort of resurgence as of late. The game featured a unique main character, a great story and strong mechanics.
The offer seems to be a great way to promote the other titles in the series, in particular the recently released remake, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, which is available at a 50% discount for just $9.99. Meanwhile, a special collection called the Oddbox is on sale for $.24 and includes Abe’s Exoddus, Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath HD.
