Agents of Shield has been the little show that could. Arguably one of the most anticipated series ever (as it tied into the MCU while being its own thing), the show originally struggled to find its own identity, but as the series grew, so did it. It soon found its footing, and delivered powerful stories, including bringing in the Inhuman race, the Kree, LMD’s and even Ghost Rider (among others). Now, fans are eagerly awaiting season five, and at New York Comic Con, we got the premiere date.
The first two episodes of season 05 will air on Friday, December 1st. This was revealed at an Agents of Shield panel by Jeph Loeb, the head of the TV branch for Marvel.
The reason for the later than usual premiere date is because of the show Inhumans, which just recently launched on ABC. That show has an 8-episode run, and then that time slot will be taken over by Agents of Shield. Given the negative response to Inhumans, we’re betting Marvel and ABC are hoping that AOS does much better ratings wise.
