Norway Killer Declared Insane; His Get Out Of Jail Card
In a shocking conclusion to the Norway Shooter case, Anders Behring Breivik, the man who went on a shooting spree and killed a total of 77 people, has been declared insane and mentally unfit for prison.
According to the reports of two psychiatrists , Anders Breivik may be considered too ill to be in jail and should get help rather then be put in prison. According to Anders, he was the commander of a resistance movement (Freemanson anyone?) in which their goal was to overthrow Europe Government for a Patriot one. However, investigation has been done and according to the reports there are no such movements and that Anders is living in a world of delusions.
The suggestion was that Anders receives three or more years of psychiatric care to get better.I don’t know about you guys, but that just sounds like an awful idea. How far can a criminal get away with then if they can be considered insane at the end of it all? This could potentially open the flood gates for more future crimes.
Stine Renate Haaheim, one of the survivors of the shooting and a Labor Party lawmaker, has agreed that a person who is considered mentally ill should not be punished for a crime. She states that they are a danger to society and should get the help that they need.
I am someone who is obviously against this decision. To say that a man can get away with nearly 80 murders is just absurd, especially if your a survivor of the shooting and are agreeing with the decision. How can someone who had planned something so big, murder students, and bombed a building be considered unfit for prison. Honestly, I don’t see why they don’t give him jail time with the added psychiatric care.
From what I know though, technically he can be in psychiatric care for life. I don’t see the use of that though when an arrangement should be to keep him in. There is no way in telling if he is even faking it either so who’s to say he won’t be back out to cause more damage after his time.
What do you guys think? Should he get the help or go to prison?
