Nitro Deck+ Controller Now Available For Switch

Everyone knows by now about the design flaw in Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, which the company has never really gotten around to fixing, even after lawsuits. Eventually one of your thumbsticks will begin moving your character by itself without your input, and the problem will just get worse until you take it in for warranty or buy another one. There are other controllers prone to this flaw but the Joy-Cons seem to run into it far more often.

This, of course, has created a market for third-party snap-on controllers that promise to fix the issue. CRKD makes the Nitro Deck, an all-in one shell that represents both Joy-Cons. You slide your Switch screen into the middle and you’ve got a replacement that’s a bit bulkier but also promises more comfort (plus no stick drift ever).

Now CRKD is introducing an upgraded version of the Nitro Deck called — what else — the Nitro Deck+. It features a number of revisions based on player feedback from the original ND…for example, the right thumbstick has been moved to the top, making a layout reminiscent of the Steam Deck. It has been made easier to eject the screen from the shell and there are also programmable “shortcut” buttons that you can remap to your liking.

  • Ergonomically designed – all-new thumbstick placement
  • No Stick Drift – made possible via Hall-Effect sensors
  • USB-C to HDMI Compatibility for TV play – (play while docked)
  • Programmable Sidekick buttons – faster, more responsive control
  • Low latency response – (direct connection via USB-C)
  • Adjustable trigger sensitivity – tweak your triggers to suit your style
  • Swappable Stick Tops – better grip to suit your style
  • Re-mappable back buttons – keep your thumbs on the sticks
  • Gyro compatible – ideal for motion control games
  • Adjustable Vibration Feedback – to rumble or not rumble, the choice is yours
  • No Deadzone Mode – find the sweet spot in your chosen game
  • Pass-through charging feature – no need to stop play to charge
  • Use NITRO DECK+ as a wired controller on PC or Switch – perfect for TV play
  • Integrated Display Stand – stands AND delivers!
  • Turbo Function – (add turbo functionality to any action or trigger button)
  • Bluetooth connection – (to update firmware via app)
  • Easy Eject System – remove the Switch without touching the screen
  • Connects to the CRKD companion app – (True Collection System)

You can use the Nitro Deck+ shell as a separate controller, but very few probably will, as it needs a wired connection via USB-C. The device has Bluetooth, but that is used to connect with its own app. Heck with it, you most likely own a Pro Controller already.

The Nitro Deck+ comes in either a black or white shell and costs $69.99 (if the USB-C cable is not included). Find them now where video game products are sold. (Note: these controllers are not for the Switch Lite, which has its Joy-Cons molded into the system itself. If you get stick drift there, sorry Charlie.)

Whoa, programmable buttons and adjustable trigger sensitivity? This Nitro Deck+ could be a game-changer for competitive games. Remapping controls and tweaking triggers could give me a real edge. Gotta see some reviews on performance though.

The Nitro Deck+ has definitely piqued my techie curiosity. Hall Effect sensors for drift-free control? Sounds fascinating! I gotta do some digging to see how those compare to the traditional analog sticks. Will they feel as responsive? Any potential for input lag? These are the questions that keep me up at night, folks. The programmable buttons are another interesting feature. I can see myself automating some repetitive tasks in certain games with those bad boys. But can you program macros? That would be a real game-changer for some genres. The adjustable trigger sensitivity is also intriguing. I wonder if it allows for a wider range than the stock settings? Fine-tuning those triggers could be a huge advantage in fast-paced shooters. Overall, the Nitro Deck+ seems like a feature-packed option for Switch owners. While the wired connection for TV play might be a turn-off for some, the potential benefits for handheld gaming are undeniable. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on reviews and user feedback before making a final decision. But hey, for someone who loves to tinker with tech and optimize their gaming experience, the Nitro Deck+ is definitely worth considering.

Pass-through charging? Thank goodness! Nothing worse than your controller dying in the middle of a boss fight. Still, hope the Switch battery life doesn't take a hit when using this thing.

Less is more and I like the simplicity, I will choose it over neon colors which is painful to the eyes and a vomit of rainbow
