New Behind the Scenes Video Released for The Order 1886
Ready At Dawn and Sony PlayStation have released the latest behind-the-scenes featurette, the fifth in a video series, for The Order 1886. The latest video, showcasing how the new PlayStation 4-exclusive game was brought to life, is available below.
The video goes into a lot of detail on how developers painstakingly created the visual look of the game. The developers even went so far as scanning textiles and material that existed in the 1800s and scanning it, so the visual look of the cloth could be digitized and animated into the actual game. The game certainly appears to be pulling off a unique, immersive and photo-realistic look. Between the alternate version of Victorian London, The Order 1886 looks like it will have ambiance and atmosphere to spare.
However, while the game certainly looks pretty, one wonders if the gameplay will deliver. The game looks like an immersive cinematic experience, but can it deliver with an immersive cinematic gameplay style on a level that the Uncharted franchise has done in the past?
The new video also features some footage of QTE gameplay in The Order when the hero Galahad engages in a brawl with an enemy armed with a knife. Of course, the environment of the unique vision of Victorian-Era London is one of the most intriguing points of the game. Players assume the role of Galahad in an elite order of Knights, who have been embroiled in an ancient war with a race of half-breed monsters called the Lycans. The Order 1886 is due out later this month on February 20. The game will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console
