ENTER Cheon Song-Yi

Do Min-Joon’s carefully controlled life is disrupted when he meets Cheon Song-Yi, a glamorous, outspoken, and often hilariously self-absorbed top actress who becomes his next-door neighbor. Cheon Song-Yi is a celebrity accustomed to the spotlight, yet beneath her confident exterior lies vulnerability shaped by the pressures of fame. Her unpredictable personality and tendency to attract trouble pull Do Min-Joon into situations he has long tried to avoid. More People, More Complications, Less Control

Lee Whi-Kyung is Cheon Song-Yi’s loyal friend since middle school and harbors long-standing feelings for her. His warm, earnest nature contrasts with Do Min-Joon’s reserved demeanor, creating a subtle emotional love triangle that adds depth without overshadowing the main storyline.

Yoo Se-Mi is also Cheon Song-Yi’s childhood friend and a fellow actress; she struggles with her own insecurities and unrequited love for Lee Whi-Kyung. Her rivalry with Cheon Song-Yi—both professionally and emotionally—adds tension and complexity to their relationship.

“Star-crossed” means the stars are against them—a reference to the old belief that astrological alignments determine human destiny. If the stars are “crossed,” fate itself obstructs the relationship. The lovers are destined to meet, but destined to fail, no matter how strong their feelings.

Do Min-Joon is from another world, and only one friend knows his true identity. His stay on Earth was never supposed to be permanent. When he met Cheon Song-Yi, he had plans to go back to his world in three (3) more months. For 400 years, he has avoided love. A young girl from Joseon died in his arms trying to protect him, when he had promised to protect her. What is the use of having special abilities when you can’t stop pain and suffering? Shouldn’t he avoid falling in love, especially if separation is inevitable?

My Love From the Star puts an interesting spin on a tale about star-crossed lovers.

That’s not why the series was added to my watch list. I’m now able to watch it with a clear conscience. I am a fan of Kim Soo-Hyun, but there was “news” circulated about his involvement with underage actresses who committed suicide. The scandalous reports were very upsetting and it was hard to choose K-dramas where he was part of the cast. The reports were almost nonstop. FINALLY, there was a news report that settled everything.

It seems this actor was the victim of false allegations and an AI-fabricated cybercrime. For over a year, he was unable to work because the stories needed to be verified. Happy to say they caught the people responsible for the malicious stories, and this talented actor has started working again. I’ve started watching his K-dramas again. Geez! They could make a K-drama about this guy’s trauma.
