This August 11, MTV will bring back MTV Cribs! Yes, the show where famous people brag about how their houses are better than ours.
Remember MTV Cribs? The show where Celebrities shove us how rich they are by giving us a tour of their houses? MTV just released a teaser of the voices of the celebrities who will make us feel poor by flexing their mansions:

It has been two decades since the original got canceled. Now a new generation of celebrities will show us their closets that are bigger than our apartment. The original lasted 19 seasons with 111 episodes and it has been a part of the early 2000s pop culture. Let’s just hope they show real homes this time around because, in the original series, celebrities tried to fake it by showing a rental home or home of a relative. In other words, they are not as rich as they claimed to be.
What defines the word celebrity is subjective now so expect to see Reality tv stars, Z-list celebrities, and social media influencers on this new reboot. People lost interest in the original when many celebrities lied about how rich they are by showing properties they don’t own. It will be cool if the celebrities who are not rich will honestly show their simple homes. Instead of flexing properties, they don’t own.
This video tackles the controversies of the original MTV cribs:
I had doubts if fans will be as interested. We can see some celebrity homes by simply going to their Instagram or following their Vlogs. Many people wanted escapism from their poverty so that could make this reboot as successful as the original.
If you are not born yet when this show became a hit, Here are some memorable moments from the original:
