“Monster Hunter Tri” Wii servers closing

With Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the way, for the Wii U and 3DS, Capcom will be shutting down all Wii servers for Monster Hunter Tri on April 30th. That would be six weeks after the release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U and 3DS.

[quote]As we usher in the exciting new Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate games, we unfortunately will be transitioning off the Monster Hunter Tri servers for Wii. With the new title, there will be a new place for all of you to gather and hunt online with each other, and we hope you will continue to play together on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

As said by Capcom themselves, it will soon be time to move on and migrate to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, which will be a much larger experience as it being an expanded version of Tri. The 3DS version will feature local four-player co-op and StreetPass sharing, and the best news yet, cross-platform online play between the Wii U and 3DS versions.

The Wii U version of the game will will have HD visuals and the option to communicate with voice chat or a USB keyboard.
