Moana 2 is coming

“Moana 2” is officially happening! I’m so relieved we’re getting a sequel instead of that live-action remake Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson mentioned last year. Disney finally made the right choice!

Let’s be real, Auli’i Cravalho

, who voices Moana, isn’t a teenager anymore. If they had gone with the live-action plan, she would’ve been recast, and that just wouldn’t feel right. Luckily, with the sequel on the way, she gets to bring Moana to life again. This is a huge win because, honestly, the first movie is way too fresh for a remake. “Moana” only came out in 2016 and raked in a massive $687.2 million at the box office. Why mess with a good thing so soon?

The new trailer for “Moana 2” is already giving me all the feels. It starts with Moana setting off on another epic journey. She blows a conch shell, which totally gave me “Survivor” vibes. At first, it looks like she’s on a solo adventure, sailing her raft with her trusty rooster, Heihei, and her adorable pig, Pua. Remember how Pua got left behind on the island in the first movie? Not this time! He’s coming along for the ride.

Just when you think it’s a solo trip, Maui bursts onto the scene. In classic Maui fashion, he grabs Heihei and Pua and jokes about eating them. Their hilarious dynamic is back, and I’m so here for it.

So, mark your calendars! “Moana 2” is hitting theaters on November 27, 2024. I’m beyond excited to see where Moana’s journey takes her next. This sequel feels like the perfect way to continue her story, and seeing Auli’i Cravalho back as Moana is the cherry on top. Sure, there might be a live-action remake someday, but for now, we get more of the original magic with a brand-new adventure.

Get ready to set sail with Moana, Maui, Heihei, and Pua. The ocean is calling once again, and I can’t wait to see where this new adventure takes us!

I am beyond thrilled about the announcement of Moana 2! The first movie was such an enchanting mix of adventure, culture, and music. Seeing Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson reprising their roles as Moana and Maui is like a dream come true. I can't wait to see what new challenges and adventures they face, especially with the return of Heihei and Pua. The fact that it was initially planned as a TV show and impressed Disney so much that it got turned into a movie only heightens my expectations.

I initially thought that November's box office would be dominated by "Wicked," given its massive fanbase and the anticipation surrounding Elphaba's story hitting the big screen. However, with the surprise announcement and trailer release of "Moana 2," I think Moana might pose a significant threat to Elphaba's reign. Disney's track record with animated sequels and the return of beloved characters like Moana and Maui add to its appeal. It’s going to be interesting to see how the box office battle plays out between these two highly anticipated films

As a parent, I love that Moana is getting a sequel. The original film is a favorite in our household because it's such a positive story with a strong, independent female lead. I'm excited to take my kids to see Moana 2 in theaters. The new adventure sounds thrilling, and it's great to know that familiar characters like Heihei and Pua will be back. I'm looking forward to sharing this new chapter with my family and seeing how Moana's journey continues.

A sequel will always be better than a remake. The kids who watched Moana are still children to have the nostalgia bug for a remake.

I'm really looking forward to Moana 2, but I hope the sequel focuses more on Moana's journey rather than Maui's. After seeing what happened with The Rock in Black Adam, I've got some trust issues with him because it felt like a bit of a power trip. Moana's character is so inspiring and central to the story, and I’d hate to see her overshadowed. I trust Disney to keep the story balanced and true to what made the original film so special, but I'm definitely a bit wary about Dwayne Johnson's ego this time around.

Moana 2, huh? I enjoyed the first movie, but I'm cautiously optimistic about this sequel. Turning a planned TV series into a movie can be tricky. Hopefully, the story feels complete and isn't rushed. Still, I'm happy to see Moana and Maui back on the big screen, and new songs are always a plus!

The Rock is back as Maui! You already know I'm sold! Moana 2 is gonna be epic. Can't wait to see Maui cracking jokes and helping Moana on another adventure. Just hearing about dangerous, lost waters sounds exciting.
