Mirror's Edge Catalyst: First Gameplay Footage Revealed
Electronic Arts has finally unveiled the first actual gameplay footage for the highly anticipated reboot to Mirror’s Edge, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. The first gameplay trailer and footage for the game is available in the in the player below.
The video features pre-alpha gameplay footage and showcases the moment where Faith goes from being a carefree runner to the hero the City of Glass needs. EA also provided some more story information, revealing that Faith starts at the game after being released from juvenile detention. Her mentor Noah has welcomed her back to the Runner’s lair. He then gives her a true Runner’s job, break into the Elysium building in the Downtown district and find a terminal to access information. Obviously things do not go as planned, and there is an appearance by the game’s villain Gabriel Kruger.
The footage was cut together from a full mission in the game. Besides the free-running gameplay, the video offers a look at the first-person view combat, which looks to be very fast and fluid. It definitely sounds like voice-over actor Laura Bailey is portraying Faith in the video and the game.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst arrives on February 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
