Minecraft Gets a Release Date for Xbox One
Microsoft today announced the release date and price of the Xbox One version of Minecraft.
The game will launch September 5 on Xbox One and will cost $20 USD to download. Those who already own Minecraft on the Xbox 360 will be able to purchase the game at a discounted price of $5 USD as a loyalty discount. “To qualify for the $5 upgrade offer, players must own the retail disc or digital version of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and connect to Xbox Live with their account,” says Microsoft.
All saved content and DLC that players may have from their Xbox 360 version will be carried over, free of charge. Minecraft on the Xbox One is said to have much larger worlds than the Xbox 360 version, and will also support four player co-op offline.
