Mighty No.9 Getting Live-Action Movie
It may seem that a bunch of the Kickstarters that you see or hear about these days are from big name writers, developers, or titans of their industry trying to get their product off the ground via their name recognition. And in a way you’re right. However, this wasn’t always the case. In fact, you could probably trace this boom to one game: Mighty No.9.
Keiji Inafune’s spiritual successor to Mega Man not only shattered Kickstarter records when it launched, it became a template on how to not only launch a project, but keep its success going through interaction with its backers.
Now though, with the launch of Mighty No.9 incoming, more content is about to come to it, via a live-action movie that will be released digitally.
Legendary Pictures and Comcept have come together to make this live-action movie happen. In a statment, Inafune said:
“The announcement that Legendary Digital is collaborating with Contradiction and Comcept on creating a live action project based on Mighty No. 9 is really amazing, not only for myself and the rest of the team at Comcept who worked on the game, but also for all the fans who have supported the project,” said Inafune. “This collaboration will give our creation the ability to reach people all over the world. Thanks to all of your support, we have fulfilled another one of our dreams.”
Mighty No.9 is set to release this September.
