Mega Man X Dive Leaps Onto Steam
There’s a new Mega Man X game out? Well, kinda. It depends on your definition of new. Mega Man X Dive originally appeared as a mobile game in 2020, and is only just now being ported to the PC. Like the mobile version, it costs nothing.
In the futuristic world of Mega Man X, the cyberworld known as “Deep Log” has begun malfunctioning. Mavericks have invaded the cyberspace and are rapidly corrupting data! It’s up to you, playing as X or other characters from the series, to leap, shoot and put an end to the viral invasion. This being a mobile title, it has gacha mechanics and won’t give you your favorite characters from the start. They must be earned, either through grinding or making the game non-free. But at its core, this IS a new Mega Man X game. Fairly new anyway. It also comes with co-op and versus modes.
Currently, Mega Man X Dive has some bad reviews on Steam, but the acidic takes aren’t about the game itself…they’re directed at the fact that it has no dedicated North American servers and is literally the Taiwanese version of the game. The Mega Man X Dive that is on mobile platforms is the global version that’s been localized properly. We agree that’s pretty lazy.
Those who download the game within its release window will receive 50 free spins, aka chances to get the characters they want. Mega Man X Dive is free on Steam.
