Lynda Carter Could Appear on Supergirl
For many, Lynda Carter was the face of Wonder Woman because of her beloved take on the character in her TV series. So much so that she’s remembered in the same vein as Christopher Reeves, Adam West, Kevin, and so and so forth. This nostalgia is so strong that the creators of Supergirl have stated that they want to bring Ms. Lynda Carter into the show, in season 2. Though they noted at a screening of the Flash/Supergirl crossover that they’ve known what they wanted her to do for a while:
“We had the perfect role for Lynda Carter,” Berlanti said. “We couldn’t work out her schedule. Next year.”
“We’re going to do it, we’ll just do it next year,” Kreisberg added. Berlanti followed with the reveal on who she’d play: “All right, she’s the female president of the United States.”
It should be noted that Supergirl (not unlike Flash) has cast many past incarnations of DC heroes on the show. Including past Superman Dean Cain, and two different Supergirls. A curious note though. CBS released a list of shows that are renewed for next season. Currently, and this could change, Supergirl is not on that list.
Naturally, this does not mean its cancelled, likely they’re waiting to see what upcoming episodes, including the crossover with Flash, will do to the ratings, but it is disconcerting given how high the ratings were when it started.
