We’re probably not getting Season Five of Harley Quinn this year, but we ARE getting a variant of it that has 90% less Harley and 95% more Kite Man. The buffoonish baddie was mostly absent from Season 4 last year, and now you know why: he was busy filming this!
The last time we really saw Kite Man was in the Harley Quinn Problematic Valentine’s Day Special, where he revealed he had finally moved on from Poison Ivy and found the true love of his life, the stylish Golden Glider. Since then, they both got into the bar business and now run a watering hole for underappreciated henchmen and mooks to let off steam and down a few hops.
We don’t know what the central plot of Kite Man’s show is beyond that, but it might have something to do with Darkseid, who’s shown up in screenshots and teasers and now this full trailer. KM has also opened his bar dangerously close to the Legion of Doom headquarters, and Doom head Lex Luthor isn’t a fan of him. He better watch where he’s flying…
Kite Man: Hell Yeah! stars Matt Oberg as Kite Man, Stephanie Hsu as Golden Glider, James Adomian as Bane, Natasia Demetriou as Malice, Janelle James as Queen of Fables, Jonathan Banks as Noonan, Keith David as Darkseid, Michael Imperioli as Joe/Moe Dubelz, Rory Scovel as Gus the Goon, Lance Reddick as Lex Luthor, and Judith Light as Helen Villigan.
The first two episodes of Kite Man: Hell Yeah! will premiere on Max July 18, with new episodes appearing on Thursdays through September 12.
