Warner Bros. Interactive has announced that Katana is the next champion character to join the playable character roster for the free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena video game Infinite Crisis. A new Champion Unmasked preview video for Katana, featuring her backstory, abilities, attacks and techniques was also released for the game. The new video is available in the player below.
Katana in the game looks to be sporting her DC New 52 look. Katana, aka Tasu Toro, was married to Maseo, who happened to be a member of the Yakuza clan called the Sword Clan. When Maseo was confronted by his twin brother, Takeo, Maseo was killed in the struggle by the Soultaker sword, a blade which is said to contain the souls of those it has killed. Seeing her husband murdered, Tatsu ran away. She later took up the Soultaker sword and swore revenge against Takeo, the Yakuza and criminals everywhere. She goes by the name katana in honor of her sword, which she thinks holds the soul of her late husband.
Katana joins the playable character roster for Infinite Cris and goes live on Wednesday, March 4. Infinite Crisis is currently in open beta for Windows PC. The game is due out for its official release later in 2015.
