Iron Saga, the hit mech battle game from Asia, launched in the USA in December, and has been updated sporadically since then. The April update just arrived and adds a ton of fresh content to the game.
First off, the retrofit feature is here….what does that do? It allows players to boost their mechs’ power by consuming stamina to claim missions. Once those missions are claimed, you then collect items to obtain research points, which can then, finally, be spent to upgrade their mechs.
Celebrate Easter belatedly with new “bunny girl” pilot skins, purchasable at the store with gems. New pilots include Tsukigase Yumi, Yumeno Shiori and Fujiwara Rina…you can find Yumi and Shiori in support packs and Fujiwara Rina in the cafe. The second stage of the Battle Pass has now been added, along with new event mechs, more daily quests and weekly challenges.
Chapters 31 and 32 of the Iron Saga story are now up, along with the challenge modes for those chapters. New side quests expand on the backstory of pilot Theresa and her mech Deer Stalker.
Iron Saga boasts a variety of modes including Story Mode, Gaiden and Challenge Mode; each can be played either solo or with friends. Gameplay is real-time combat with an emphasis on strategy. If the mechs look familiar, that’s because they were designed by artists who have worked on various Gundam anime.
