iam8bit To Release Vinyl Soundtrack For The Red Lantern
The development team at Timberline Studio released the video game The Red Lantern in late 2021. It’s a first-person survival game where you play “The Musher,” master of a dogsled who is lost and searching for her way home. To survive you must navigate the Alaskan wilderness, watch out for danger, and keep your five sled dogs happy and protected.
The Red Lantern featured the voice of Ashly Burch as The Musher and a soundtrack by professional composer Hrishikesh Hirway. Hirway has been involved in a lot of projects, scoring several television shows, movies and podcast themes. The Red Lantern was his first work to be featured in a video game, but it was good enough to get a soundtrack 1 1/2 years later.
iAm8Bit has just announced a physical vinyl release for The Red Lantern’s soundtrack. The album will feature all 14 tracks in the game including the bonus track “Holiday Lights,” pressed on Aurora Purple vinyl. The sleeve will be decorated with painterly artwork from Haley “bbanditt” Wakefield, depicting memorable environments like forests, icy mountains and the Northern Lights. The record label will be illustrated with a sled dog team that runs in circles as the record plays.
Preorders for The Red Lantern Soundtrack Album are now open at iam8bit.com for $31.99. The album is expected to ship sometime in the spring of 2023.
