I Am Alive SEN release dated

We’ve just received word from Ubisoft that the post-apocalyptic third-person survival game I Am Alive, available only on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace at time of writing, will reach the Sony Entertainment Network (formerly the PSN) on April 3rd in the US, and April 4th in the UK.

Developed by Ubisoft Shanghai, IAA takes place in the fictional American city of Haventon one year after ‘The Event’, an ambiguous global cataclysm that has wiped out most of humanity, leaving behind a barely habitable world smothered by a noxious ash cloud. You play Adam, an ordinary man struggling to withstand the dangers this desolate city contains as he searches for his wife Julie and his daughter Mary.

Resilience, conflict avoidance, efficient resource management and intuition are all key to staying alive. However, the power of intimidation is probably your greatest weapon; for instance, aiming an empty handgun can prove just as effective in deterring hostiles or bargaining for provisions as aiming a loaded one. This inventive mechanic makes for some tense gameplay scenarios with often unpredictable outcomes.

Our contact has confirmed that the PS3 version will be priced at $14.99/£9.99, and PlayStation Plus subscribers will be eligible for a 20% discount.

If you’re on the fence about whether or not I Am Alive is worth the money, take five minutes to read our review before you make up your mind.
