Head Over Heels ~ I Can Save You From Your Misfortunes

“Head Over Heels” is a 2025 Korean drama series, with 12 episodes, categorized as Romance, Comedy, Rom-Com, Coming-of-Age, Fantasy, Supernatural, Youth, High School, and Family; streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The K-drama is based on the webtoon “Gyeonwoo and the Fairy”.

SUMMARY: If the client walks in and he or she is upside down … they’re gonna die!

I Have to Save Him. He’s My First Love

In “Head Over Heels”, Park Seong-ah is a shaman called “Fairy Cheon Ji”. On the outside, she looks like an average high school student. The only one who knew her secret was Pyo Ji-ho, her loyal best friend. She’s a high school student by day, and a powerful shaman by night. But when clients come to her, she wears a mask so they don’t know they’re dealing with a teenager. When Park Seong-ah was little, she discovered she had this “special talent”. Another shaman told her that if her client walks in and he or she is upside down … they’re gonna die!

Bae Gyeon-woo, came with his grandmother, and when he walked in, he was upside down. Oh no!! Park Seong-ah realized that he only had days to live. 3 weeks unless she did something! Her mother told her it was possible she could save his life but she might have to risk her own life. It was the “law of equivalent exchange”. If his life was saved, something of “equal value” had to be exchanged, i.e. she might die instead.

Park Seong-ah had already tried to save someone before and in the end, with all of her efforts, that person still died. The risk didn’t matter this time. The moment Bae Gyeon-woo walked in upside down, Park Seong-ah was smitten. He is her first love. Her mind was made up, regardless of the risk, she had to save him.

It’s not going to be very easy to save him because he tells her plainly that he doesn’t want to be her friend, and he doesn’t want her to hang around him. He already suffers various misfortunes and it seems like whenever she’s around, he suffers even more misfortunes. It’s rather awkward and kind of backward. But when Park Seong-ah attempted to save Bae Gyeon-woo, he ended up saving her. He also ended up being punished by school officials because she caused a problem. What on earth was she doing in the boys’ bathroom anyway? (O.o)

Park Seong-ah can’t explain to Bae Gyeon-woo that she can see his misfortune before it happens and she’s only trying to save his life. But he doesn’t believe in shamans or fortune-tellers. He thinks they’re con artists who take people’s money and that “Fairy” probably stole his grandmother’s money. He doesn’t know that Park Seong-ah is that “Fairy”.

Park Seong-ah ignores his protests and sticks to him like glue. He’s her first love and she must save his life! She becomes his “human talisman”. As if her mission isn’t difficult enough, Yeom-hwa, an evil rival shaman appears and she is somehow connected to Bae Gyeon-woo’s childhood. Park Seong-ah’s rescue mission gets dark, dirty, complicated, and DANGEROUS!

I'm all for tower defense games, and incorporating exploration components into them? Genius! I can already see myself scheming with my army of robots, hunting for materials, and solving those randomized riddles. It's like if each playthrough would be a unique adventure. Can't wait to descend deep beneath and emerge victorious in the light of the sun!

Tower defense games can be hit or miss, you know? And adding exploration might just complicate things unnecessarily. Plus, random puzzles and traps? Sounds frustrating more than fun. But hey, I'll keep an eye on it. Who knows, it might surprise me. PVZ is the only one I ever enjoyed.

S.O.L. Search of Light seems like a chill game for kicking back and unwinding. I'm all about customizing my character and exploring new worlds. And with the promise of fresh gameplay each time? Count me in

Most of the tower defense games I played are 2d. This is my first time to see one in 3d.
