HBO Max Finally Has A Solid Plan For Game Of Thrones Shows

Since Game of Thrones is one of the most iconic brands HBO and HBO Max has, it’s not like they can stop making spinoffs. Yet they can’t seem to start them either. So far the delivery of new GOT content has been very sparse, with one short season of House of the Dragon every two years — and that story seems to begin and end whenever it wants, finishing its second season BEFORE a big conflict started. These long waits ain’t gonna cut it if that’s how the story is told!

Well, HBO Max wants you to know they finally have a plan in place. From 2026 onward, there will be at least one GOT-related season of something on the stream. And to make up for lost time, they’ll be debuting TWO next year.

This January sees the premiere of Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, AKA the “Dunk and Egg Story,” and then in the summer, the third season of House of the Dragon will finally fly into view. (You may need to watch the second again, or at least a recap, by that point.) After that, Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will debut its second season in 2027, and a newly announced fourth season for House of the Dragon will premiere in 2028. That’s at least three guaranteed years!

“We are thrilled to be able to deliver new seasons of these two series for the next three years, for the legion of fans of the Game of Thrones universe,” says HBO head of Drama Series and Films Francesca Orsi.  “Together, House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms reveal just how expansive and richly imagined George R. R. Martin’s universe continues to be. In January, I think audiences will be delighted by the inspiring underdog tale of Dunk and Egg that George and Ira Parker have captured so beautifully. And this summer, House of the Dragon is set to ignite once again with some of its most epic battles yet.”

The real question is what comes after that. It’s a long time from now, but showrunner Ryan Condal has stated publicly that House of the Dragon is a four-season story. HBO Max has not confirmed that the show will end at Season Four, but it’s fully possible.

“Squad 38” (aka “38 Task Force”) is a 2016 Korean drama series with 16 episodes, categorized as Crime, and Comedy; and streaming on Tubi TV. SUMMARY: A Seoul City Hall chief officer crosses paths with a con man and the con man tells him that he can help him collect the taxes people owe. He may be a con man but he’s also a patriot. The chief officer is not having any success so he decided to “think outside the box”. ♦ They Don’t Pay Taxes! In “Squad 38”, Baek Sung-il works at City Hall in Seoul and he is a dedicated civil servant who heads up a task force that has been trying collect taxes from tax evaders. Some are just delinquent. But others? THEY DON’T PAY AT ALL!!

Y’all, “Squad 38” is such a hidden gem! I mean, who knew tax collection could be this entertaining? 😂 That con man really stole the show, and let’s be real, the dynamic between the civil servant and the con artist had me cracking up. I low-key felt like I was rooting for the bad guy, which is a wild ride for a drama about taxes!

And can we talk about the comedic timing? It’s like they took “The Office” and threw it into a tax office in Seoul. I remember binge-watching this while avoiding my own taxes—totally relatable. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you doing with your life? Get on Tubi and let the tax evasion shenanigans begin! 💸✨
