Hayden Christensen Will Return As Darth In Disney+ Obi-Wan Series
Disney announced some months back that a miniseries based around Obi-Wan Kenobi was in production. We knew Ewan McGregor would probably reprise the role; we just didn’t know if anybody else would. Today, Lucasfilm revealed they did it: they’ve landed Hayden Christensen back in the role of Obi-Wan’s former apprentice and current worst enemy.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, as the series is appropriately titled, will be a limited series directed by Deborah Chow. who told the audience today that the story “starts from a simple premise: ‘Just being a Jedi, it’s not safe.'” A trailer was screened (which is not currently online), but it didn’t contain any footage from the show because it hasn’t started production yet. There was just interview clips with people like McGregor, who said “the most beautiful thing of all is that [this series has] brought me back together with Hayden.” He also promised at least one more fight between their characters.
The question is how much of Hayden we’ll actually see. Ani can’t breathe without his mask, so he can’t keep it off for very long. We’re guessing the majority of his maskless appearances will be in flashbacks, with possibly a little de-aging work to make him a dozen or so years younger. Obi-Wan Kenobi begins shooting in March 2021.
