Guilty Gear Strive Holding Open Beta Test February 18
Want to get your hands on the next Guilty Gear earlier than most? There’s a way…Arc System works just announced an open beta test for Guilty Gear Strive. The game itself won’t be out until later this year, but you can try out an early version next week, assuming you have a Playstation console (the fourth or the fifth).
13 characters will be playable (15 are in the game…..Anji Mito and an unrevealed character are the only ones missing). Unlike the closed beta from last year, this version of the game will have online netcode implemented (a system of data flow preferable to online fighting games because it keeps the timing of moves consistent on both sides). It’s the first Guilty Gear to use netcode, and you could be the first to try it out.
Available Modes:
Versus – Play against the CPU or another player.
Dojo – Tutorial and Training modes will be playable.
Network – Play against others from across the globe.
Additional Details:
OBT will feature 13 playable characters.
An online connection is required to play offline modes.
PlayStation Plus is not required to play the Open Beta online modes.
The Guilty Gear Strive Open Beta Test will be live on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 from 7:00 PM Pacific / 10:00 PM Eastern on February 18th to 6:59 AM Pacific / 9:59 AM Eastern on February 21st. There’s a way to get access to the beta even earlier than that: preorder the game. All those who have done so will have access starting February 17th at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern.
