Want to get your hands on the next Guilty Gear super-early? There’s a way…Arc System works just announced a closed beta test for Guilty Gear Strive. The game itself won’t be out until later this year, but you can try out an early version next month!
According to ASW, the beta will include seven playable characters: Sol, Ky, May, Axl, Chip, Potemkin, and Faust. Beta testers will be the first to see Guilty Gear Strive’s revised character screen and user interface.
What they WON’T see is online play with rollback netcode (a system of data flow preferable to online fighting games because it keeps the timing of moves consistent on both sides). You’ll get to play online, don’t panic about THAT, but the rollback feature has just been announced by ASW, and is too early in development to be implemented.
Players must have the following to apply – a PlayStation®4 connected to the internet, a PSN account (Japan, USA, or Europe) Note: An active Playstation®Plus account is NOT required to participate in the closed beta.
- Application Period:
March 18th, 2020, 19:00 – April 5th, 2020, 06:59 (PDT)
- How to Apply:
Follow the directions on the official closed beta site: https://www.arcsystemworks.jp/guiltygear/cbt/en/
- Application Results:
Starting April 12th, 2020, 22:00 (PDT) Only those that have been chosen for the Closed Beta Test, will be notified by e-mail.
Got all that? Good….see you there. The closed beta for Guilty Gear Strive launches April 16 and runs through April 19.
