Groovy, It’s The Evil Dead Rising Red Band Trailer
When I was just a little boy, I asked my mother: “when are they going to stop putting Que Sera Sera in movie trailers? I’m sick of it already and I’m just a little boy.” Mother replied, “Whatever will be, will be.”
But having to hear Que Sera Sera for the billionth time is the only real downside to the newly released trailer for Evil Dead Rising, which promises a ghoulish good time in the Raimi tradition. The twist this time is that the Necronomicon isn’t discovered in a remote location or in a cabin deep in the woods…for some reason it’s sitting around in the basement of an LA apartment building.
That’s where Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland) lives and raises her three kids. Her estranged younger sister has dropped by for a surprise visit, to create some drama, but that development isn’t nearly as bad as when Ellie discovers the book and has to fight off demonic possession (and as the trailer proves, she sometimes loses that fight).
Unfortunately Bruce Campbell will not be seen this time, or possibly any other time in the future: he’s retired from the role of Ash. He is listed as a producer on the film though.
Given that this is an age-restricted trailer, you can only watch it on YouTube with a YouTube account, so we can’t embed the thing. We can link to it, though. Evil Dead Rising will be released April 21.
