Grace and Frankie premiered years ago back in 2015. People think the show would be canceled after two seasons because it’s a comedy with two senior women as leads, but it lasted seven seasons! Not only that, it is going to have a series finale. Seeing a series finale is hard to achieve if you are a showrunner on Netflix. There are Netflix shows with bigger and younger stars, but they still get the boot. A Netflix Show having 94 episodes is a challenging feat to achieve, but Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin managed to make this Drama succeed despite all of the odds against it. It even got Five Emmy Nominations, and it may not have won those awards, but this show outlived some of the Award Winners.
Grace and Frankie, A Farewell to 7 Seasons with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin
Grace and Frankie Season 7 will be the Final Season of this seven-year-old Netflix Original. The Series revolves around two aging women who don’t like each other. Somehow, they hang out together throughout the years because their husbands are business partners and best friends. They will become close friends when both husbands come out as gay and want to divorce them.
Their Husbands decided to get married. The two women who don’t like each other become friends during the most challenging time of their lives. Throughout the years, fans watched them as they started dating men again. They also tried to have friendships with their ex-husbands after the divorce. There is also the awkward moment of their children becoming step-siblings because they used to date, but now their dads are married.
People can resonate with Grace and Frankie because their heartbreak and insecurities from aging are real. It is something most people experience. There is also the fun dynamic of seeing women who dislike each other become friends who uplift each other. I hope some of the Netflix Shows I watch will have the longevity of this comedy. Congratulations to the cast and fans of this show for having a Series Finale.
