Ghost in the Shell: First Trailer for Live-Action Movie
Paramount Pictures has finally released the first trailer for the upcoming Ghost in the Shell movie. The film is due out next year. You can check out the new trailer for the film, based on the acclaimed manga created by Masamune Shirow, in the player below.
The story follows the Major (Scarlett Johansson), a special one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, and she leads a special ops elite task force, Public Security Section 9. The team is devoted to stopping dangerous cyber-criminals and extremists. The team is now forced to face an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
The trailer was revealed at a special event featuring Johansson, Takeshi “Beat” Kitano (Daisuke Aramaki) and director Rupert Sanders in Tokyo, Japan on Sunday (November 13) for the film’s global launch party. The event opened with Taiko drummers, along with the anime film’s composer Kenji Kawai. The event also showed some never-before-seen footage from the film. There was also a behind-the-scenes look at costumes and props from the film, and a way to capture the experience in a photo booth. The show then concluded with with the global trailer launch.
It definitely appears like the style is trying to mimic the the two feature films directed by Mamoru Oshii more than anything. It doesn’t look terrible. Still, it’s hard to ignore the casting choices in this day and age.
Ghost in the Shell debuts in theaters on March 31, 2017.

I liked the anime of Ghost In The Shell when it was on. I liked the theme and the story of Ghost In The Shell. The Tachikoma character was so funny and so helping. If only we had Tachikoma's in real life, life would be so much simpler. I understand that the movie is coming out in March of 2017. Something to look forward to in 2017.
