Gachiakuta’s English Voice Cast Revealed

I read the manga last year and honestly, I’m excited for this anime. Gachiakuta’s world is rough and different. The idea of turning trash into weapons is strange but it works. I’m glad Bryson Baugus is voicing Rudo. He usually brings emotion without overacting. Also, the fact that they are launching the dub and sub on the same day is a good move. It shows they want both types of viewers to enjoy it together. I’ll definitely watch the first episode and maybe follow the aftershow if it’s well done.

Finally a dub I can be excited about. I’m tired of hearing the same few voices in every anime. This cast list is solid. Zeno Robinson always brings energy to his roles. I hope his character Jabber is written well. The aftershow idea is new. I don’t really care for podcasts but if they bring in guests like the voice actors or even the original creators, I might give it a try.

I am very interested in how they will adapt the graffiti-inspired art into animation. Kei Urana and Hideyoshi Andou created something that looks very different from normal manga. The story is dark but full of creativity. A society that turns trash into weapons is actually a cool concept. It’s also a comment on how people treat others as garbage, maybe. I will watch both sub and dub to compare. The aftershow could be good if it gives more background on the worldbuilding.

The trailer looked okay. I don’t know if I will love it yet. Sometimes anime based on popular manga change too much. But I do like stories where the hero is pushed down and has to fight back. This voice cast has some names I trust, so that helps. I will try episode one. Maybe I’ll get hooked.

I do not usually watch dubs but I think I will make an exception for this one. The idea of trash powers is something I have never seen before. Also, the art is beautiful in a strange way. Like, not clean or pretty, but cool. And the people behind The Anime Effect Podcast are good at what they do. Their analysis is easy to follow even for someone like me who doesn’t know many industry terms.

This cast looks promising. But I hope they don’t try to Americanize the script too much. Sometimes the dub adds jokes or changes emotions. I like it when the story feels close to the original. Still, Bryson Baugus is one of my favorite young voice actors, so I have high hopes for Rudo. Also, the podcast sounds like a good way to keep fans engaged weekly.

Why is no one talking about Katie Caruso? She’s underrated. I think she’ll be great as Riyo. I want this anime to succeed because it feels like a risk. Not just because of the world, but because it doesn’t look like every other shonen anime. The idea of giving life to trash to fight monsters is wild but could work if they take it seriously. I’ll be there on day one.

I’m happy Crunchyroll is putting both sub and dub on the same day. Usually I have to wait and by the time the dub comes out, I lose interest. I like when shows respect both kinds of viewers. Gachiakuta sounds different enough to stand out this season. I don’t know if it’ll be my favorite, but it looks like the team is trying something creative. I’ll support that.
