We’ve got both a date and a cast list for the English dub version of Gachiakuta! To refresh your memory this is the anticipated new anime based on the manga by Kei Urana and Hideyoshi Andou. The latter artist is a graffiti designer, giving Gachiakuta its unique look.
The story is about Rudo, a young outcast falsely accused of murder. His sentence is exile into the wasteland known as The Pit. He may be down, but he’s far from out! He discovers an organization within the wasteland called The Cleaners, who can give life to trash and transform it into powerful weaponry. It’s just what he needs! Someday soon Ruto will be able to escape The Pit and get his revenge against those who sentenced him. He’ll just have to get past all the monstrous Trash Beasts first. Wouldn’t be a shonen without lots of training.
The English cast list for Gachiakuta includes:
- Bryson Baugus as Rudo
- Christopher Wehkamp as Enjin
- Corey Wilder as Zanka
- Katie Caruso as Riyo
- Zeno Robinson as Jabber
- John Burgmeier as Regto
We also found out today Gachiakuta will get a rare privilege few anime, even popular ones, get to enjoy: an aftershow. After each episode airs, a new broadcast will appear of The Gachiakuta After Show, a podcast presented and hosted by the folks behind The Anime Effect Podcast. The show is collaboration between Crunchyroll and Sony Music and will be available on all major podcast platforms.
Gachiakuta will premiere exclusively on Crunchyroll July 6. Both the sub and dub versions will be available on the same day.
