Zyuranger's cast to announce something soon?

It's definitely something that would be marketed towards a different crowd than your typical Sentai v-cinema productions - just as the Hurricanger one was. I don't think Toei would care too much about the kids as long as they're picking a show that was pretty popular when it originally aired and that audience has gotten to an age where they have expendable income.

The problem with Hurricanger was that 10 years was still probably too soon for a reunion movie. Its original audience, the one Toei was betting would have that nostalgic feeling towards the show, would still only be teenagers. Those teenagers would be past the point of bugging their parents for Sentai goods and probably not in the position to buy an expensive DVD volume.

Are videos supposed to sell more than that in Japan? Last I heard, Japan solely rented videos and only true collectors bought them unless they were on sale in the second hand market.

3500 seems pretty impressive to me.
There's a huge market for anime home media releases, and those actually dwarf almost any of the numbers you see tokusatsu do regularly when it's a popular show. The most popular anime of the year is almost always going to outsell the most popular tokusatsu by a wide margin.

It's not when you realize the W return movies moved more than twice as many units. However it did do better than Goseiger Last Epic, but that isn't saying much.

The Hurricanger V-Cinema was sold out everywhere on it's first day, and 3,500 is a pretty good number for DVD sales in Japan. Don't forget that the movie itself earning money isn't the biggest concern, it's all the toys that come out with it that make the big ongoing bucks.

Didn't Akibaranger cover the Figuarts advertising? It was on tv after all, so it should reach more people than a v-cinema.

Regarding the "sold out" thing...Toei seems to be doing that these days, like announcing every movie is a "big hit", despite the falling box office...

Guardian Beast Tyrannosaurs, Bakryuu Tyranno, Gabutyra...oh man...

Yeah, but the only downside is they would probably decide to have them all combine to form some type of clusterfuck looking bot where the suit actor is about to die from the weight and heat.
