I swear I’m not trying to flood this site with Stranger Things articles. It just happened that, right after I posted a deep analysis of last week’s trailer, Netflix suddenly posted the first five minutes of the season to the Internet. No rhyme or reason…they’ve just done so. Contrary to now, there was a time when the producers weren’t willing to give too many hints, but they did say months ago that the season would begin with “someone singing.” That was enough for the analysts of the Internet to leap up and immediately declare “It’s Will and it’s a flashback and he’s in the Upside Down singing The Clash and we’ll learn what happened to him in there!” in one breath. If this was you, congratulations…nothing gets past you. That’s exactly what it is. The scene picks up at the moment Will is hiding in Castle Byers and a Demogorgon finds him. Fortunately, Will is good at climbing trees. But, as we learn for the first time, so are Demos! The inevitable happens and he’s taken to the Upside Down version of Hawkins Library, where Vecna hooks him up to his hose and declares “You and I, we are going […]

I’m honestly not watching the 5-minute clip. I get that it’s a tease, but I know it’ll just leave me hanging and drive me crazy waiting for more. A 5-minute scene is just a taste, and I don’t want to get caught up in the frustration of having to wait for the next part. I’d rather hold off and watch the actual episode when it’s out on Netflix. The suspense of the clip is only going to make the wait worse for me. So, I’ll skip this early release and enjoy the full experience when the whole episode drops.

Seeing Will face a Demogorgon again immediately reminded me why this show balances horror and character work so well. I noticed the scene didn’t rely on fast cuts for tension—it let the visuals and the actor’s performance do the work. The Upside Down library is creepier than I imagined, especially with the way Vecna talks to Will. I like that it immediately shows Vecna’s plan and obsession. The cheap jump scares were noticeable, but honestly, I didn’t mind them because the atmosphere is already strong. I’m curious to see how canon the Dark Horse comic material remains.

Wow! I feel mixed after watching the first minutes. On one hand, the tension was high, and the Upside Down library is visually interesting. On the other hand, the cheap jump scares were a little distracting. Still, the performances of the actors, especially the younger Will, made it feel authentic. I also like that Netflix released it early; it shows confidence in their content. I’m very curious about why Vecna chooses Will specifically and how the comic miniseries fits into the canon. I will definitely watch the full episode when it comes out.

I liked how the scene started immediately with action but still gave space for character development. Will’s climbing scene and the chase felt natural, and the Upside Down library set design is really detailed. The dialogue from Vecna is disturbing, but it works because we already know the threat. I found myself thinking about how the flashback adds to the overall story instead of just being filler. The cheap jump scares did not ruin the moment for me, but they were obvious. I am interested to see if this early release changes my expectations for the full episode.

I enjoyed the pacing of the opening scene. It introduced immediate danger, while also showing some character history. The Demogorgon chase was handled in a realistic way for the Upside Down world, and the library’s design is chilling. I do agree that some jump scares were telegraphed, but the real suspense comes from Vecna’s words and intentions. It feels like the show is rewarding viewers who remember past seasons and comics. I am very curious about the next episodes, especially with the unusual release schedule.

The cheap jump scares could have been skipped, but the performances, especially young Will, were strong. The scene sets up tension and shows Vecna’s obsession well. I liked that it doesn’t try to reveal everything at once. I’m curious about the Upside Down library—its layout and purpose seem important. The early release makes me feel prepared for the full episode, but also builds questions I want answered.

Wow, Netflix! With shows like Squid Game and The Challenge Season 2, they gave us the first 15 minutes to tease us and build excitement. But with Stranger Things, they only drop 5 minutes? Really? I get that it’s a different show with its own pacing, but come on, 5 minutes feels like a quick appetizer and not much else. You’re telling me the most anticipated season of the year only gets this small a taste? I get that they want to keep us hooked, but I feel like the other shows got a lot more love when it comes to teasing their upcoming seasons. It’s kind of a letdown. I mean, we already know Will’s been through a lot, and the Demogorgon chase isn’t exactly new ground. If you're going to give us a taste, at least let it be something a bit more substantial, right?

The fact that Netflix just released the first five minutes without warning is kind of bold. It’s like they’re trying to create some mystery around this season. I’m a little mixed on the whole “someone singing” idea, though. I thought it would have a more emotional or thematic tie-in to the season. Instead, we got Will and his flashback to the Upside Down. I get that Will is central to the plot, but I would’ve liked a little more suspense. The Demogorgon climbing trees? That’s cool, I guess, but it felt like they were adding something just for the sake of it. The whole Vecna angle seems interesting, though. Why does he care about Will? Is it just because Will’s been through so much, or is there something more to it?
