Cool. I never got to check the first game out because of the broken PS2 but it sounded really cool, and this is nice (and strange) news.

But wait, US PS2s can play PAL games? Wish it worked the other way

Can't you just get a boot disc to make it work, like what was done with the Dreamcast?

get it as PAL, rip it to the computer and use the pal/ntsc convertor, burn it afterward and use swap magic or hdloader...:thumbs:

You'll need a Swap Magic boot disk and a slide card tool (old PS2) or a magic key tool (slim PS2). You can also replace the cover of your PS2 with a flip top lid.

For PAL games you need to make sure they support 60hz, thankfully most newer games do. If it only runs in 50hz, the screen will just roll and you'll never be able to play it.

Well, if Europe's getting it, it's already done, Yakuza 3 is coming down the pipe, and the install base of America... I'd say a US release was a lock.
