Actually Deathbird is still alive, but she's in a coma and paralyzed after a fight with Lilandra in the last issue of X-Men: Kingbreaker.

Lilandra, sadly, was assassinated during War of Kings.

There's also another potential heir to the Shi'Ar Imperium besides Lifeguard. Adam X the X-Treme.

Actually Bishop's biggest problem now is a nasty case of sunburn if I am reading the latest Cable correctly. As for Nori and David they just haven't had enough panel time in the last year for any conclusions to be drawn. That is another problem with Utopia is has everyone show up but then nobody gets any character development. I stand corrected we know that Doctor Nemesis (my favorite character at the moment) is a total asshole. He is basically House but he hunts mentally inept Nazi clones.

Also is it just me or does Vulcan come off as Marvel's Superboy-Prime?

Surge is like 16 and Bishop is like... 48, or technically -10 or something. The fandom and the writers seem to have decided Surge is a douche, but even so that'd be creepy.
