X-Men: Second Coming #1 Preview

Shitty narrative and dialogue, taking character favoritism to another level and filling a book with terrible ideas solely to engage his own fetishes.
If that your complaint against him then you must hate a lot of comics, anything by Warren Ellis or Garth Ennis comes to mind. Ellis isn't bad when he is trying to have fun like with Nextwave though.

Kyle and Yost may not be great writers, but they at least put effort and respect into their work. X-Force now is just above average, but it's still heaps better than the dross Fraction and PAD are putting out.
Kyle and Yost are bad writers to me since they can't find anyway to create dramatic tension except by killing characters. This why I don't want those two anywhere near Uncanny, I am still upset that they killed off most of the cast of New X-Men: Academy X for no reason other then they wanted to show that their run would have consequences.

Anyway as for Second Coming proper, it is basically just the X-Men's Siege. It is all about getting past this whole mess that has become the X-books. Honestly what they need is someone to help direct the overall course of the lineup, and I don't mean editor an actual creative director. I have said this before that they have written themselves into a corner with the direction it is going, Second Coming is just going to be some kind of cosmic reset with Utopia and "No More Mutants" just being undone, ignored, or sidelined. The one thing I hope sticks around is the X-Club that has been by far the best part of Fraction's run.

One bit on the burnout, I actually see it as an excuse for him to introduce new characters in overtime. I wouldn't be surprised if Sketch from his Revolution run shows up and joins. http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix2/sketchmutant.htm

They left that whole plot with her up in the air, too. That and her being Shi'Ar royalty, which should've given her a role in War of Kings.

Are you serious? Wow, they were pretty cool, and they just dropped them.

See, that's what happens when you try to do to much. tsk tsk.

I like Neal but they should have never called him Thunderbird, honestly that sunk his character. If he is ever brought back they need to give him his intended name, Agni, and just overlook that crap of an editorial mandate. As for Lifeguard I thought that if they gave her some connection to Gladiator that would help her come off as less dues ex like. I mean just make it so she has to really want to save someone for her powers to work, like how Gladiator needs to be confident.
