X-Files 2?

Duchovny says that negotiations for the sequel should end this week ans shooting should begin sometime in 2008. Hard to take this too seriously though. He's stated that the sequel was supposed to start shooting in 2006 so this may or may not be smoke up someone's ass.

However, does anyone really want a second film? The X-Files are long since gone and have jumped many many sharks. I can't see much interest in a second film.

well there is the fact that mulder and scully are facing an uncertain future after the finale, if people are interested then they'll watch it

The fire's died out on that series a long time ago and left behind none too positive of a legacy.

We people talk of it, it's more about its weaknesses and how they hope shows like LOST don't mirror those weaknesses.

If they're gonna do another movie, they better thing reeeeeeaaal long and hard about that story and how to make it something satisfying that new and old fans would stand up and recognize again.

Otherwise it could simultaneously kill Dave's career and the X-Files franchise.

I enjoyed the first film and most of the show, but I admit after David left I pretty much stopped watching.

I'd be interested in a second film, but yeah.. they'd have to come up with something pretty amazing.

Otherwise it could simultaneously kill Dave's career and the X-Files franchise.
