Winny crashes

I've got major problems with Winny. I was operating under Winny 2.0b7.1.
Due to disk space issues, I had to clear some of my cache, which was getting over 20Gb by the way. I did just that and haven't used Winny for a few days.
Now it turns out each time I fire up Winny, after maximum 5 minutes the programs keeps 'hanging' and takes up 50% of my CPU. When I check the Task manager, it says Winny is not responding (oddly enough, it shows 2 winny programs while only one is open and in the process tab I see only one Winny process running)

I have upgraded to version 2.0b7.28 but the problem is still there.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

I myself don't use Winny, but I do know some people who do. I can ask around and see if anyone has been having similar issues.

You're experiencing the same thing I've been going through the last couple of weeks. I have no idea what's causing it but it doesn't seem to be a virus.

Phew! Thanks for the heads-up. At least I know I'm not alone in my misery. Perhaps a clean install might solve it?

UPDATE: problem solved thanks to a kind member on a Japanese Winny messageboard. phew! :anime:
