Will there be a MGS4 Substance??

I think the excuse the PS3 fanboys use about the HUGE NUMBER Of DISCS IT WOULD NEED MAKES IT SUCK.... Well that excuse is bullshit. There are a number of ways they could do it. They could compress it or what ever, optimize it for the 360, or they could do multiple discs. The only people that care about it being on more than one disc are lazy asses that can't get up to change a disc. Hell you can install them to the 360 HDD.

Haven't seen really any "MULTIPLE DISCS = XBOX 360 IS WORST CONSOLE EVER" stuff, just people stating the truth that it would require multiple discs, and possibly an increase in price because of such. Compressing it for the 360 for a game like MGS4 would turn out incredibly choppy and would pale drastically in comparison. A 360 DVD is 9 Gigs, a Blu Ray Dual Layer is 52 Gigs (and MGS4 used all 52), compressing that much into 9 gigs a good chunk of things are going to be lost. Multiple discs is the only way to go, but in turn would be more costly for Kojima Productions and the pay off might not be much. Since I imagine that putting a game and shipping it out on 5 DVDs is more expensive than putting a game and shipping it out on one Dual Layer BluRay.

IGN, Gametrailers, Gamefaqs just to name a few places the PS3 fanboys spew what I said.

It wouldn't matter what it would cost them. They would make a fortune. I think 5 Dual Layer DVDs cost less to make then one bluray.

Well there's your problem.

I looked it up, on average whole sale its about $8-ish for a dual layer DVD, for a single dual layer BluRay its around $30-ish. So about 5 Dual layer DVD's is a bit more expensive. But thats just the disc itself, not putting the game onto them. And you can't just assume they would make a killing just off of legacy, look at Substance for the Xbox, it did well enough but just barely and it was a limited release.

The Xbox MGS2 Substance was a supbar version; low framerate and constant freezing.
After how much time passed now MGS4 wouldn't sell as well on 360 either. Most of the people who wanted MGS4 got it, regardless of whether they thought it was good or accepted that it was an insult to the series.
As for a "MGS4 Substance" game back to what the TC said, there's probably going to be one eventually... Hopefully doing something about the installs and a recut to fix the story.

and a recut to fix the story.

Doubtful, the story was so badly written but scenes were so well directed that you'd need a complete rewrite. The only thing that was done right was the ending and choosing not to go with the dumb "Kill major characters cop out because dying a hero makes us cool".

Lost Odyssey came on 4 Dual Layer DVDs. Price point remained the same. The average price per disc for authoring tends to be around $2.50 for a BD50, while DVD9 is around 40 cents. 50 cent difference between one BD50 and 5 DVD9's. Licensing fees for codecs and such are also much cheaper for DVDs.

The only real question is does Konami feel it's fiscally worth it to produce MGS for the 360, which requires pay a team to port the game over.

The 360 is the dominant console in America and they could decide it's worth the price in order to reach a larger audience in America, as the PS3 rev only dropped 1.58 million copies here.

Really though, no skin. It was an okay game. I can't say I felt Kojima really had his heart into it.

Probably not, look at how the Xbox port of Substance did. Besides Skinwalker said it already, those that wanted MGS4 got it already.
