Why is there only one main Tokusatsu fansub group?

TVN have a reputation of being ridiculously slow with releases and to be honest I don't really understand why they haven't subbed more (i.e. the rest of the series which they started a long time ago then didn't continue, i.e. Ryuki etc.).
I don't think they're slow. If you consider the immense amount of time it takes to time, translate, encode, etc ... all in all I think they've been putting out subs like crazy.

Thanks a lot, Haitien! I really wanted to see that. Hopefully I can find it somewhere online, or buy the DVDs if I really have to (I don't think they'll be compatible with my DVD player, but they might be with my computer's DVD drive)...

I've seen some box sets for sale on eBay that say they have English subs, but apparently that's not true and they're just bad quality bootleg raws. >_<

As for TVN's pace... Well, I dunno. I appreciate what they do, just felt a little strange that they went so long without subbing Kabuto, then all of a sudden were releasing them fast, before taking another several weeks before the finale.

I can't explain the gap for the finale (though I suppose "real life happened" is as good as it might get without an official source), but as for suddenly releasing a whole bunch of them fast... It's possible they were subbing more than one at a time to release them one after the other like that. Make up for lost time like that, get it out of the way, etc.

Regarding the 'long wait' and all of a sudden releasing a few episodes at once thing, this may sound stupid but has it ever occured to anyone this may be caused by bottlenecks? For example a few episodes are timed and translated but the encoder isn't available. Then when the encoder has a day off or something he/she encodes the remaining episodes at once. ... it's a possibility.

There's that too. There are many reasons. Honestly, as long as they're released eventually, I don't really care. Let them handle the releases as they want.

Yeah, I understand. I guess my post over-exaggerated. Maybe it's because it felt weird how I started watching Kabuto when it was up to the final 10 eps, so I could watch 1-40 instantly, then I felt like I waited a long while for more. And it seems strange that that took a while but now stuff is coming fast (Den-O, Gekiranger etc.). ^_^

Explain how they put out Den-O 3 or 4 days after it airs. Yet after how many years they can't release Ryuki 7
