Who's the Best Robin?

gave me and Idea,
Who's the Best Robin?

Tim Drake, and in his current costume at that!

Dick Grayson was awesome, but aesthetically he wasn't too cool in my opinion. I prefer Grayson as Nightwing (who is one of my favorite comic heroes).

Tim Drake, although I prefer his original red-and-green tights. The current one suits him okay though.

I like Robin. I sometimes think 90% of the flak the concept gets is basically just because the bottom half (or lack there of) for his costume was a poor design choice. Though I liked how Darwyn Cooke solved the problem by at least just drawing them as regular shorts. The tunic and the mask works though and I think when Neal Adams designed Tim's original costume he must have thought he same thing which part of why that design is so good. In many ways it's still the iconic Robin costume but made cooler and a touch more practical.

I guess this is another reason I like BTAS. In that, Robins had a good costume since all along.

I like Grayson for being the original and also I just like his story. I like the idea that Bruce witnessed what happened to him happening to another kid. It had to have been like being outside himself at 9 years old. I like the dramatic irony for Batman that the battle he wages to honor the memory of the family he lost begins to give him a family of his own. Dick Grayson becoming Robin is the beginning of that.

But don't get me wrong though. I like Tim a lot. Well, I liked him before he was made hyper-angsty and given that awful new outfit which is like his DCAU outfit gone horribly wrong.

Tim
