Who is behind Korean power rangers

I know its just dubbed sentai most of the time but who's pulling strings behind the operation?

All I know is Toei and Bandai of Korea. I'm not sure. I didn't know that there was a Korean version until a while back. :sweat:

Come to mention it, wouldn't this be considered copyright infringement if Saban\Disney found out that Korea are plastering "Power rangers" on sentai brands with absolutely no profit for the respective US companies?

Yea, I'm surprised they don't even know, forget lawsuits. That's another thing.

Though if they did know I would guess Saban couldn't really do anything since they haven't had the series in so long, and Disney probably didn't care enough...so they just let Korea do what they want.


But disney pass up on money?.....that's hard to believe.

That depends. If it's on Super Sentai, then that's copyright infringement unless both parties agreed on it before the Korean companies decided to do it. I'm sure if they really did put "Power Rangers" on Power Rangers, they got permission from Saban. Disney would then need to fulfill all contracts that Saban had under Power Rangers. I'm sure there were paid royalties. I don't think you have any information that says otherwise.

Here's what happened. Korea was getting dubbed Power Rangers until Wild Force, but then got Abaranger instead of Ninja Storm, although the dub was called Power Rangers Dino Thunder. They then dubbed Dekaranger (Power Rangers SPD), Magiranger (Power Rangers Magic Force - not Mystic), Boukenger (Treasure Force), Gekiranger (Wild Spirit), Go-onger (Engine Force) and oddly, Gaoranger (Jungle Force) - despite already dubbing PR Wild Force, which has the same suits and zords and much of the same plot! Hurricanger was skipped outright (because of the ninja motif, probably), and they've now had two Gaoranger adaptations. Shinkenger's fate is unknown.

Take a look at the Korean logos. They all have the familiar thunderbolt, with Power Rangers written in Korean. It's pretty obvious that they pay Toei for the footage and Saban (and previously Disney) for the brand.
