Which films have surprisingly emotional depth on rewatch?

I recently revisited a few movies that I thought were just fun, but they hit me differently this time and I found unexpected layers of emotion. I’m curious which films you’ve found to have more depth after a second or third viewing. What titles do you think benefit from rewatching and why?

I've had a few movies that really surprised me with their emotional depth on rewatch, and I'd love to share them.

Inside Out is a great example. The first time I watched it, I was focused on the vibrant visuals and humor, but on a second viewing, I really noticed how complex the emotions were—especially the scenes surrounding Sadness. It dives deep into themes of grief and acceptance, making it a heartfelt experience that resonates differently when you’re more aware of what the characters are going through.

Another film is Toy Story 3. Initially, I was just enjoying it as an adventure, but revisiting it later, I was struck by the nostalgia and the themes of change and letting go. The ending, in particular, hit me harder as I reflected on my own experiences of growing up and leaving behind cherished childhood moments.

Lastly, I suggest giving The Pursuit of Happyness another shot. The first viewing can feel pretty straightforward, but once you're aware of the true story behind it, the layers of resilience and the father-son bond really come to life. The struggles and triumphs felt so much more poignant when I understood the personal sacrifices involved.

These films show that a second viewing can reveal something deeper, often related to our own experiences in life. What about you? Any specific scenes that resonated more on your rewatch?
