Where should I start on the Green Lantern comics?

Man, some real good responses. Thanks guys!

From what I gather, Sinestro Corps War is a popular place to start. Though I do wanna know a bit more about GL himself, Hal Jordan. So I think I may start with Secret Origins. I think Ill get it through comiXology on my phone since its only about $0.99 to &1.99 an issue. And from waht I hear, comics are gettin expensive these days.

Ill definitely need to do some research, seeing as certain comics sometimes overlap within different stories. Like it seems like Green Lanter Corps sorta overlaps a lot of the other comics which is kinda confusing to me.

Green Lantern Corps is not the main title--it's definitely Green Lantern. You'll miss out on a lot of events and information if all you read is GLC.

Actually if you getting the issues Secret Origins comes after the Sinestro Corps War in the main Green Lantern title.

Also if you just care about Hal outside the crossovers you can probably skip the Green Lantern Corps and later on the Emerald Warrior since those deal with 3 other Earth-based Lanterns.

Well, I dont want to only read about Hal, but I at least want to know what he's about a bit before I explore the other Lanterns, either Earth-based or otherwise.

Eh, I think his plan of starting at Sinestro Corps. War works. He'll understand enough through that that if he wants to go back and read Rebirth for the details, he can. It's basically what I did.

Regardless of chronology or anything, Secret Origins and Sinestro Corps. War should bring you roughly up to speed for Rage of the Red Lanterns and/or Blackest Night.

However....I'm...not sure I can safely suggest reading Brightest Day. It's just been so bloody convoluted so far that I stopped trying to keep track of it.
