it's becomes a compulsory requirement for all Singaporean males to serve when we reach 18. lol.

but don't worry, for the 3 months Basic training it's 2 weeks of confinement, then booking out every Friday evening and in on Sunday evenings. after that it depends on your posting.

2 WEEKS is that all you get!!!!!:bawling:

Try two months stright confinement with the US Army.. then Booking out every Friday and Back on sundays depending on what School you go to...

hahahaha. it's dumb to be confined. it just lowers the morale of the men. though the US Army is made up of career personnel right? not conscripts like over here.

i guess when you join as a career personnel you should be prepared for stuff like that. for conscripts it just isn't worth it.

I'm with the Police Force not the Army anyway.

Well there are three different aproaches to the Army...

Career Personal where you are in the Army full time depending on the length of your Contract.

The Reservers and National Guard.

The NG is used during times of Natural Disaster like Floods Quakes riots ect. reserves are for when they need more troops..

reguardless of which branch of the army you serve they all recieve the same kind of training... Two months of confinement then depending on the Job Skills you choose when you enlist any where from 3 months to a year of school mostly weekends free...
