Where have you stumbled across other toku fans?

(Hi, been mostly lurking for a while, hope my first new thread doesn't suck!)

So I'm playing my lowbie shaman on World of Warcraft right now, and as I was running off to do some quest or another, I saw a paladin named Momotaros. I asked if they watched Den-O, to which they answered "what no no no, yes."

We shot the pewp for a while about all things KR, and I can safely say that typing "/friend Momotaros" was the coolest thing I've typed all day. :buttrock:

So now I ask, what other interesting places have you found other toku fans? How'd you find out they were into toku? Did you slather them with hot buttered JUSTICE? I'm curious!

Well I have turn a few people on to some kamen rider they hated den-o but loved kabuto, hibiki and faiz, some even like blade with was my fav before kiva. But I yet to meet someone who was a yankee fan. But there are alot of HJU people here in NYC and I would love to have a meet and greet if possable.

At Ohyaocon this year I saw a dude walking arounf wearing the kabuto zecter. He noticed my gekichangers and we talked for a minute about "Kamen Rider Blood" as Kiva was called at the time, and speculated about what Sentai would be like.

I turned a couple of friends on to Kamen Rider starting with Ryuki. They seemed to really enjoy it, except the horrible subs from HK Groups. But hey, they were the only ones that I knew of that subbed it.

I know xXBladeXx lives near me, so maybe well hang out some time?

I've met a pretty fair amount at Otakon. I was shocked at how many people I saw last year who were either cosplaying as Rangers/Riders or wearing henshin devices.

I don't know any yet my self & I don't really think I will ever really just stumble across any one either unless its at a con and they happen to be buying something... but its not like we all really go around being all nice and friendly and talkative to each other now is it unless we have too?

I usually meet them at sci-fi cons. The biggest con for me to meet fellow tokusatsu fans was Asian Fantasy Film Expo (where I met tokusatsu-related guests, including Teruyoshi Nakano, Carl Craig and Shuusuke Kaneko)! I also met some tokusatsu fans (mostly Godzilla fans) at G-CON '95, including the late Guy Tucker (briefly), Jim Cirronella and others.

I would love to see another East Coast tokusatsu con again, like AFFE. Going there was like meeting a second family.

Question for Paul Sullivan (Igadevil): Did you go to Lunacon (in NY) one time? Wondering if I met you there, because if it wasn't you, then it must've been some other fan whose name I vaguely remember.
