What are the best narrative-driven visual novels I shouldn't miss?

I've been getting really into visual novels lately and I'm drawn to ones that have strong stories and character development. I've played a few popular ones like Doki Doki Literature Club and Steins;Gate, but I'd love to know what other narrative-driven visual novels really stand out. Any recommendations?

If you're into strong narratives and character development, you definitely need to check out "The House in Fata Morgana." It's a dark and haunting story that spans centuries, delving into themes of madness, betrayal, and love. The art is stunning, and the character arcs are incredibly deep.

Another great one is "999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors." It's a blend of puzzle-solving and narrative, with a gripping plot that keeps you guessing until the end. The multiple endings really add to the replay value too. Have you tried any that really surprised you?
