I know the fanboy reflex is suppose to be, "OOOOH GOOOOD!!! They're going to ruin it!!!" But the concept behind this show... that's pretty easily adapted and pretty easy to make fucking awesome. I'm actually all for this and hope it gets a killer director.

This is a concept that's pretty freaking cool and pretty freakin' easy to make cool. This could be awesome.

DBZ on the other hand is damn near impossible to adapt.

This could be The Grudge meets Highlander meets the Matrix and I'm all for it. :D

Kinda like GARO actually..

I'm on the fence about this.

On one end more people get to learn about the crack that is Bleach.

On the other hand **** like this usually gets super fucked up in a media switch.

Impress me.

I would think Dragonball would have been easier to adapt simply because it doesn't have any deep ties to Asian culture and can work anywhere. (even Toriyama himself said he pretty much forgot it was a Journey to the West parody)

Dragonball easy? It doesn't really take place on a recognizable Earth.. no well established time period... it mixes demons, aliens, magic and technology without blinking....... Dragonball is a mess to adapt.

Bleach..... Earth..... present day.... young guy that fights demons with a sword. A director would have to try pretty fucking hard to ruin that concept.

These are all staples of sci-fi, though. You can toss them together and say "Here! This world random has demons, bear-men, dinosaurs, and robots running around, oh and only the cities have any real technology, have fun" and then leave people to watch the fights and guys fire off energy blasts.

A lot of the stuff in Bleach is pretty rich in Japanese and Spanish mythology that they'll either need to erase or rewrite (and I can totally see people complaining here) if the mythos of the story isn't kept.

Yeah, but what movie has ever mish-mashed that much into one movie successfully?

And Bleach... what about that is hard to adapt?

I think a lot of you are suffering from what I call, "Fanboy Reflex" born from the 80's when things were adapted they actually were made by people who didn't know **** about the property and would almost seem to intentionally try and ruin it.

Bleach.... the basics of this are mad easy to make phenomenal. Boy.. ghost girl... sword slinging... and demons. That's cake to adapt.
