Keith, you need to check and see if these users accounts themselves are in "Mod Mode"; if they are, then any posts they make in the future, and/or any current posts that they go to edit will end up "disappearing"/being "moderated" again. There have been several "moderated" posts that have been popping up recently in the RPG subforum, so it may be that it's the new user accounts themselves from people that are wanting to join the RPGs that are in Mod Mode (instead of being fully approved/registered as Regular Users). If this is the case, it may then be that this could, in turn cause any posts made by those accounts to be moderated as well.
