The ending of Final Fantasy VII is such a rich tapestry of themes and symbolism. I just realized that the journey from Cloud's fractured identity to the sense of closure with Aerith's sacrifice really highlights the struggles with accepting loss and moving forward. Plus, with the recent Remake's twist on the ending, I can't help but wonder what new layers they might add to this already complex narrative. How do you all interpret the ending, and what do you think the Remake is aiming to convey?

Aerith's sacrifice totally still wrecks me every time! That moment encapsulates so much about love and loss, and it resonates hard with Cloud's journey. I do appreciate how the Remake plays with the idea of fate and grief, but a part of me feels like not all the changes land well. Some of it feels like it's trying to overcomplicate a story that was already powerful at its core. I'm really curious how the newer layers they add will affect Cloud's character arc. What do you think about the new direction they're taking with the characters?
