Underrated Heroes: Which Lesser-Known Characters Should I Check Out?

[MartianManhunter51]

I've been getting into comics for a while now, focusing mainly on mainstream heroes like Spider-Man and Batman, but I'm interested in exploring some lesser-known characters. I've heard about characters like Blue Beetle and Shazam, but I'm looking for suggestions on heroes who deserve more love and attention. Which underrated characters have great stories or unique powers that I should read about?

You should definitely check out the character Cloak from the duo Cloak and Dagger! Cloak has such a fascinating power set; he can manipulate the Darkforce dimension, which gives him the ability to teleport and envelop his enemies in darkness. I remember reading "Cloak and Dagger: Skin Deep" and being blown away by how it not only gets into their powers but their personal struggles as well. The writing really showcases their dynamic and the depth of their characters, which I think is something the mainstream heroes sometimes lack. Plus, their stories often tackle real issues, which makes them feel so relevant! Cloak's a character who doesn't often get the spotlight, but those who do seek him out are in for a treat.
