STORY PREMISE​

What if dinosaurs were never wiped out? What if the great cataclysm had been prevented by outside forces? Welcome to planet Ovurth, which is quite similar to our own, albeit inhabited by evolved dinosaurs, or as they prefer to be called, saurians. With no concept of fossil fuels, the primary power sources are solar energy and vegolium, an oil derived from plant extracts. Smaller mammals are still hunted by the meat-eating carnivores, and Cavemen are considered a cryptid, among other things. Saurkind are preparing to travel to other worlds and apart from the odd minor squirmish, the countries of Ovurth share a relative peace.

In prehistoric times, two races of aliens battled for supremacy. The Dark Ones, who wished to conquer the planet, and the Pure Ones, who had lost their own world already and refused to see any more suffering. The war of attrition lasted until both sides could barely continue. In a last ditch effort, the Dark Ones detonated gene bombs over the planet, wiping out most of the population before their ship crashed. The Pure Ones, in response, used their own gene bombs to kickstart the evolutionary process before disappearing, seemingly forever.

The year is 2015, and on the mysterious Shadow Island, the Dark Ones reawaken. Led by the fearsome Emperor of the Night, their goal is to complete what they started all those eons ago, to enslave Ovurth and continue their campaign of universal domination. What they don't know is that the last Pure One, under the guise of science teacher George Edward Owen, had foreseen their return and sought out a select group of saurians gifted from birth with the ability to transform into the Ultrasaurs.

NOTES​

• Countries are named thus; take their name in the real world, and reverse it, i.e. Japan(ese) becomes Napaj(ese), America(n) becomes Acirema(n), England/ish becomes D'nalgne/nish, etc. Work the rest out for yourselves, you're a clever bunch.
• The average saurian, species aside, is around 7 foot high, but like the humans of our world, their size, weight and overall appearance is varied within reason.
• When the Ultrasaurs transform - simply by the power of will and not a command code/device - they grow taller and stronger (not on the level of a giant, mind you) and the unique genes in their bodies give them special abilities. However, much like a certain silver hero, the Ultrasaurs can only maintain their empowered forms for a limited time, which varies in length depending on how much they use their super-powers over their natural physical strength.

An Ultrasaur does not neccessarily have to be good. They can also give into the temptation to use their powers for personal gain. Not all of them learned of their nature through Mr Owen, some came across their latent powers through emotionally charged accidents.
